Raquel Gómez (Cifuentes, Guadalajara 1983) is a Spanish and Belgian artist who has trained both as a visual artist and clinical psychologist.

When she was a child, she already started drawing with her father and her paternal uncle, showing a great curiosity about the works of Antonio López and Joaquín Sorolla.

Driven by her curiosity to understand the human being, in 2008, she graduated in Psychology at the University of Seville and in 2010 she obtained a MA in Clinical Psychology at the Autonoma University of Madrid.

As clinical psychologist, she worked with women and minors in situations of violence.

In 2016, she graduated in Plastic, Visual and Space Arts, at the ‘Ecole Supérieure des Arts de Saint-Luc’ in Liège, with the highest honours.

Since 2016, she has completed her training in several workshops with artists such as Antonio López or Andrès García Ibáñez.

After the birth of her two children, in 2023, she decided to devote herself entirely to artistic creation, teaching and her work as a mother.

Her artistic work explores the intimacy of the human, motherhood, the cycle of life and the relationship between human beings and nature.

Drawing and painting are her privileged means of expression, although she sometimes uses printing techniques, sculpture or photography, adapting the medium to the idea.

Her influences include Marlene Dumas, Louise Bourgeoise, Jose Maria Sicilia, Clarissa Pinkola Estés and Carl Jung.

Her work has been exhibited in cities such as Seville, Andorra, Liège, Brussels and at UNESCO headquarters in Paris and New York.

She lives and works in Brussels and often travels to Spain.

She also enjoys reading, contemplating nature and dancing.
